Perhaps it’s because there’s so much preparation beforehand and yummy leftovers afterward. But mostly, it’s because I’m happiest with as many people as possible, all joined together with hearts filled with gratitude and joy for this special time spent together.

Grocery shopping is the most fun and I usually start a good week ahead. All produce is from Whole Foods but Pavilions is where I get all canned goods.

Although I usually pick up two bags of Whole Foods stuffing, I like to make my own cubes from a good sourdough loaf using lots of Poultry Seasoning and a little Sage. Then I chop up tons of celery and swet onions and cook in a lot of butter to then set aside for the next days stuffing preparation. This tastes soooo good, I usually have a little dish of it!

Cranberries are extra special with a can of frosen OJ. I’ve found the best cranberries to be at Whole Foods.

I just use canned yams but with a lot of seasoning, tons of butter, more OJ and slow cooking they’re the best!

Draining several assorted canned fruits and adding butter & seasoning, you have a wonderful, slow-cooked side dish because of the added curry.

The big day finally arrived and thanks to Whole Foods I have a wonderful 23 pound turkey!

Lovely Izabela and Wayne had brought over a stunning floral arrangement that was perfect for the centerpiect.

Super friend Curtis had brought over six different gelato flavors the day before.

The sign-in table was all set up at the entrance.

Yi-Lin arrives with sister Nora and Ryan and adorable Luca who is now six!

Next Dave and Alexis…

Maryam and Kert…

Hi Nino…

Dear Tanya signs in.

As does Alexis…

Susie Kat and Carol…

The cheese table…

Nom nom…

The star of the show!

Thank you Chef Erica…

After dinner, there are games and prizes! First, Veronica’s Thanksgiving quiz, which was harder this year but lots of fun!

Next, several games of Thanksgiving Bingo with more prizes…

This guy is so much fun. He’s passed around the table with everyone saying what they’re grateful for and if he stops dancing…you’re out!

I did say it was Luca’s birthday.

There was also pecan pie and Yi-Lin made this amazing cheesecake!

The most special time for me is when everyone places an ornament on the tree.

It’s Kareoke time!

A world of thanks to everyone who made this Thanksgiving the absolute best!
