Continuing in April, there was a wonderful Salon on the Spiritually Creative Life in its 29th year, hosted by Lovely Carol Soucek King, with April’s topic being “Faith.”

The main presenter was Ruth Broyde Sharon, an Interfaith leader/inspirational speaker/creator of “Meet me there, The Interfaith Musical.” Ruth spoke on A Crisis in Faith: Taking the First Steps to Freedom. My takeaway:”The Common factor that brings us all together is oppression.” Also, “If we look back on our own life, we will find it’s not haphazard.”

And from Patricia Ferber:

What is faith, what does it mean?

It means all that happens is meant to be.

It carries us on the wings of trust, love, and harmony,

blessing us with the gift of grace like fine poetry.

Take a chance and awaken the new,

like the flower that blooms before becoming fruit.

Rainbows of color fill the sky,

knowing we will succeed in all that we try.

As Always, after the Salon, Generous Carol treats her Salon Stars to a delightful dinner at El Portal.

Curtis and Yi-Lin always bring the party!

Love!

Each month brilliant Tom Backer and I have dinner at Aroma Coffee and Tea in Studio City. I always call it my “class time!”

Four of the over twenty early artworks that had mysteriously disappeared were returned by precious Lisa and David, saving them from the secondary market.

Dear Izabela and Wayne stopped by with beautiful Easter flowers.

Lunch with these two cuties…Debra and Terri at Red Maple in Toluca Lake.

The next day Curtis and Yi-Lin surprised us with yummy treats….dinner plus gelato!!!

It was great fun!

And then we watched one of our Korean dramas….plenty of popcorn was needed!

The next day was Easter Sunday…

Is this not the cutest ever??? They’re two feet high!

It was hard to get Somi to be too excited about the whole thing.

Dear Maryam and Kert, had the most delightful Easter dinner on their lovely patio. Here’s hostess Maryam with Izabela and Kert. Oh, and of course, Cookie!

Host Kert.

Our delightful neighbors Maria and Var with their cuties David and Emilia. Somi adores them and when she escapes she goes right to their front door, begging to be let in!

Alexis and Dave deep into conversation with dear Carol.

Yea Nino!

Love this photo of Carol! She’s showing us the bag Tania gave her.

Always love sitting next to brilliant and delightful Jan!

Don’t even ask!

Host Kert shows Patricia points of interest.

We were making a delivery at the Huntington Botanical Gardens and decided to stop at the Langham in Pasadena for lunch.

I phoned Curtis and Yi-Lin to see if, by chance, they could meet us…serendipity is the best!

Thank you Adrian Spence, Founder and Artistic Director of Camerata Pacifica for another inspiring evening.

Many thanks Chris for the marvelous dress rehersal for Ainadamar. A premier of a Flamenco inspired score, depicting the last days of playwright Frederico Garcia Lorca and actress Margarita Xirgu, Lorca’s muse.

It was great fun being with Sharon and Janice.

Even saw awesome Steve Benson, President and CEO of the Music Center Foundation.

So cute!

April’s Brush painting class in the studio was marvelous. It had been raining and we had great fun watching the different weather fronts until the sun shone. Lovely students.

New student Cinda did wonderfully.

Collector and student Mona and her delightful daughter Victoria, both in from Seattle, had a private class where we studied roses.

Dear Lizzie Girl sent this lovely Spring Bouquet!

And now it’s off to the wonderful month of May!
