It is always a great joy to witness the Music Center’s annual “Very Special Arts Festival,” and no more so than at this, the 46th!

Bravo Awesome Peggy Collins for your massive support!

The children’s art that was posted along the way was delightful!

Seeing all the booths where the children could participate was so moving.

The face painting was a big hit!

Rachel S. Moore, President and CEO of The Music Center.

Time for a light lunch and a talk about the program’s future.

What a blessed day!

I am so thrilled to be the new owner of this exquisite Jardiniere created by my student, brilliant China painter Susan Spohr.
Susan and David, her husband delivered it to me where it has a place of honor at the entrance to my home.

Opening night for the Life of Pi!

Fabulous!!!

Intermission in the Founder’s Room with Steve Benson, President of The Music Center Foundation and his lovely wife Lorri with Awesome Terri Childs!

Sandie Reilly and I are both May babies so we always celebrate together. This year it was at the Peninsula.

After that we both had spa time and dear Irene pampered my footsies.

Time for “Jane Austen Unscripted: Tea at Pemberley” at the Gary Marshall Theatre in Toluka Lake.

This was the saddest of occasions, saying goodbye to our Lovely Marguerite Marsh.

Dear Jan…

Sweet Patricia…

Always stunning Carol Soucek King.

Dear Peggy and I needed a lot of Kleenex.

We are so very sorry Dr. Chris.

Miller Yee Fong, Architect, Professor, Artist, Designer, was the main speaker with “Gratitude is Architecture,” at Carol Soucek King’s May Salon on The Spiritually Creative Life. Miller and his wife Jetty are the love story for all ages!

Thank you, dear Carol, for always mentioning my books.

And afterwards a delightful dinner treat at El Portal.

Brilliant Tom Backer included me in a thoughtful group discussing how Caltech can do more in the future with its performing arts program.

You can tell by this menu that this was going to be a delightful luncheon. And it was!

Then lunch with Kind Steve Benson, President of the Music Center Foundation.

A delightful lunch at the Music Center.

Lovely Valerie.

A brilliant piece from the LA Opera.

Opening Night reception for Wang Mansheng’s “Without Us.” Even if you’re not interested in art, this insightful, thoughtful exhibit should not be missed.

I always love seeing Robert Hori, Associate Director of Cultural Programs at the Huntington Botanical Gardens.

Nino Wong, Head of the Docents in the Huntington’s Chinese Garden.

Dear Jetty’s loving husband, architect Miller Yee Fong.

Dear Carol and Jan…

So happy to see Master Qingnian Tang, who taught Calligraphy here in the studio.

And now the exhibit.

All of these hanging panels are thin silk.

Carol had a most interesting talk with the artist.

Thank you, dear Cris and Lorena, for a most memorable evening.

To be continued…
