There was just time to catch this year’s Pasadena Showcase House of Design before it closed on the 18th, my birthday.

I dearly miss Charles Norman who was a fine collector of my work since I was an exhibitor at Art Expo in the 80’s!

What fun seeing fantastically creative Brenda Cooper, Emmy Award-winning stylist for the Nanny.

My favorite room was the living room, the first room one sees entering the house.
Wondering who would clean all that lattice.

This had to be the grandest stairway ever….just when you thought you should be at the top…there were more stairs.

At the top.

This cracked me up!

Another little area I liked.

Lovely Conchita shows her exquisite jewelry creations at Showcase House.

On to the Langham for dinner and a little pre-birthday treat.

Veronica always surprises me at midnight on my birthday and this year was no exception.

Did you ever see a cake like this?

Darling Luca sang me a Happy Birthday wish wearing the shark hat I gave him. Too cute!

That day, Lovely Carol Soucek King and dear Curtis picked us up for my birthday celebration at Avra in Beverly Hills.

Awwww…..

Thank you my precious friends!

Can you believe that after all that, we had a craving for Monte Carlo’s Gelato on the way home?

Thank you dear friends for a perfect day!

Maria brought sweet Emilia and David over with Happy Birthday wishes!

Thank you Adrian Spence, Founder and Artistic Director of Camerata Pacifica for this final in the 2025 series.

Thank you awesome Brenda for the delightful birthday lunch!

Somi loves you too!

A special evening at The Huntington for the Heritage Society.

Robert Hori, you are such a dear and precious friend.

Yummy nibbles.

Erika was a collector of my work in the ’90’s.

Time to move on to the library.

Curators Josh Garrett-Davis and Linde Lehtinen spoke on the process of co-creating a major exhibit set to debut in 2026.

We were able to get up close and view rarely seen treasures from the Library’s vast collection.

Octavia Butler’s notes from an unrealized Earthed book.

Coffee, desserts and the end of a lovely evening.

Marine, Eliza and adorable Ysabelle celebrated my birthday.

More cake!
Lovely Susi first introduced me to Avra many years ago and since then it’s been our go-to spot for celebrating!

Just back from scuba diving in Palau with her grandson, Susi showed me photos from her wonderful trip!

Thank you dear Susi for the lovely birthday treat.

Veronica always does the most interesting research, finding the most foodie place to take me for my birthday. This year it was Chef Michael Mina’s ORLA in Santa Monica. Another winner!

The appetizers.

And three desserts!

What a lovely day!

Lovely Mary and I always celebrate our birthdays at Ca Del Sole.

Thank you, Chris Johnsten, for the Rigoletto dress rehearsal. It was wonderful!

Here’s some grand partying! I love you all so much!

Always joyful Carol.

Jan, you look fabulous!!!

Most creative Nino and Curtis.

One day I’ll get a good photo of Veronica.

So yummy.

It’s all about the cake!

Thank you, thank you, thank you my most precious friends!

The month ended with a delightful Center Theatre Brunch at the Music Center.

Adorable Peggy!

We were entertained by some of the stars.

Upcoming programs.

Awesome Terri tells CTG Artistic Director Snehal Desai what a wonderful job he’s doing!
