August began beautifully with a visit from Lovely Lisa who has moved back to California!

We’ve been friends forever, as this photo will testify. This was about the time she taught me her star routine from Chorus Line! Oh my gosh, what fun to also see I still had my ‘childhood’ piano then.

Time to make new memories. Curtis and Yi-Lin came over for movie night, which is becoming a tradition. They brought three, yess, three deep dish pizzas…

Plus heavenly croissants for me…

And fabulous deserts!

I made a watermelon salad which I must say was really terrific! So refreshing.

We watched the Brutalist, which turned out to be way too long to have a double feature night!

It was even too long for Somi.

If the Dodgers are playing in the afternoon, we have to watch in the office while working.

Time to pick up Veronica’s bracelet at Tiffany.

I thought I’d add to my Twilly collection, but they call them Ribbon Scarves there.

Worked up an appetite so into 208 Rodeo for a fabulous lunch!

Refreshed enough to check out Dolce & Gabbana’s amazing store, where I succumbed to one more twilly! Love this one.

Next stop the most amazing ice cream at Kith’s.

A long overdue lunch with Laurie Pie at Bloomies…

The mobile groomers came for Somi’s bath time. They were quite good but we’ll stick with taking her in. Seems to be less traumatic.

Awesome Carol Soucek King picked me up for another adventure.

The Japan Foundation, through a partnership with Kylin Gallery, presented artist extraordinaire Yoshio Ikezaki, “Form is Emptiness. Emptiness is Form.” This famous sumi-e creator produced the “concepts of the five different shades of black or “Ma and Yohaku.”

Can I get a drum roll please…. Somi the Golden Doodle is 2!

Dinner with brilliant Jan under the stars at the Athenaeum.

Dear Carol’s thank you at El Portal for her “stars” for the August Salon on the Spiritually Creative Life. Guest speakers were Mino & Yoko Yokoyama, zooming in from Japan. Their mail presentation, “Feel First * Think Second,” focused on the five senses of Japanese culture.

Great fun celebrating lovely Marine’s birthday at Jon & Vinny’s in Studio City.

Time with Sweet Lynne is always a joy.

Smoothies with two of my favorite peeps…Lizzie and Terri!

Can you believe…..Jhonny and Jeremy gave me my very own Labubu!

And this lovely Chinese vase.

Dinner with brilliant Tom.

With all this eating and dashing about, I was still able to complete 5 very large works (26″ X 37″). I’m still working on the sixth one; it’s a multi-floral design, and I’ll add a background wash to it next week. Here’s one of the others.

There’s more August fun stuff on it’s way!
