August 23rd was Veronica’s birthday, so off to Beverly Hills and lunch at Gucci Osteria on Rodeo Drive.

I love chef extraordinaire Mattia Agazzi and knew he would do something very special for Veronica!

We settled on the tasting menu which had all the exquisite dishes listed on the menu. This was a special gift from chef Mattia. It’s designed to look like a pizza and was sooooo yummy!

There were so many courses, and along with each a special, mock-cocktail drink.

How did they get the ice cube to say Gucci!!!

Yes of course there was a birthday cake.

The next day, Curtis and Yi-Lin came over ostensibly for movie night but it was really a ruse for Veronica’s birthday surprise.

They brought dinner and the best cake on the planet!

We did watch a movie…SUPERMAN!

Somi always hates saying goodbye to her favs!

Now this was a toughie. Figuring out how to get Veronica to “The Farmhouse” at Descanso Gardens so we could all celebrate her!

Always stunning Carol Soucek King!

We love Jan so much.

And of course….cake!

I have to say, we pulled off the surprise thanks to Nino, who picked a fabulous place. The food was soooo good!

There’s always time to hug a tree!

Then, Sweet Annie celebrated Veronica at The Castaway in Burbank. I must say the new menu is terrific!

Have you seen Juliet at the Ahmanson? It’s great fun so don’t miss it!

Had to get a shot of these!

Harry’s in Spain until the 13th so…..Thank you Tanya for the recommendation.

Well, it is Beverly Hills, so you’d expect no less than “Society Hounds.” There are no words…

After that, it was time for some relaxation, so where better than the Peninsula?

The cabanas are the best but they were fully booked so lunch on the roof terrace was just fine. Of course a birthday cookie with a candle!

Feeling serene.

Curtis & Yi-Lin came over for another movie night.

That makes Somi one happy pup!

First we saw “Perfect Days”

And then ” Jiro Dreams of Sushi”.

Class in the studio was small because of the holiday weekend, but mighty!

We studied the Lotus which is a very difficult subject and I’m so proud of everyone’s work!

Sweet Lynne.

Talented Susan.

Po Chu did beautifully. I’m so glad because it’s the subject she wanted to study.

Sweet Jenny.

I even managed to complete a painting with a background as well.

Time for dinner at Via Selfie.

And so ends August.
