How adorable! Precious Emilia and David, with their lovely mom, Maria, pick up their book, “That’s Just What I Needed Today.”

August 7th and Somi is three … can you believe it??? First an appointment at the spa where Somi had a blueberry facial before her usual grooming.

Instead of cake there were cookies!

And lots of new stuffies.

Lovely Izabela picked up her order. It’s so joyful when people gift their friends with one of my books.

On the 7th, Curtis and Yi-Lin brought dinner from Katsu Bar for movie night and celebrated Somi.

As these are Somi’s favorite peeps, she was over the moon happy!

The new elephant stuffy was welcomed into the menagerie!

They made yummy smoothies for dessert…

I made popcorn and we settled in to watch Disclosure Day.

Conceptual Artist, Writer, and Philosopher Toby Crockett was the Main Presenter for Carol Soucek King’s Salon on the Spiritually Creative Life. Her theme was “Kindness is Everywhere”. Toby discussed kindness and its relevance to a worldview which embraces both science and philosophy as a matter of course. If the universe is made up of information, and that information points us to the ultimate answer, which is love, then kindness has to be our vehicle for universal understanding.

That evening, Lovely Carol treated her main presenters to dinner at El Portal.

Missing dear Charles, our anniversary is always bittersweet.

To brighten things up, Veronica and I went to Tiffany’s to shop for her birthday.
We love Jay.

Another movie night with dinner thanks to Porto’s. Somi loves the popcorn best.

We watched Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Time to celerate Veronica at Michelin starred “Seline” in Santa Monica. Brilliant Chef Dave Beran’s follow-up to “Pasjoli”.

Chef Dave won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: California 2026!

For her birthday on the 23rd, Veronica wanted a Dodgers party!

Curtis and Yi-Lin kindly picked up our order.

Nino makes the absolute best salads.

And Somi loves her new stuffy. Thank you Nino!

Sandie Girl arrives.

Did anyone say Cake? There were two! Sweet Lynne, thank you for the Dodger blue one!

Curtis and Yi-Lin went all the way to Rosemead for this one. Yummy!!!

Stylish Carol tells Veronica all about this lovely top.

The very next day was dear Susi’s birthday so we celebrated as always at Avra!

Lovely Mary came over for lunch but first…getting past Somi!

Dad Var and adorable Emilia brought flowers and treats for Veronica!

Once a year the Huntington has a “Successors” evening.

Loved meeting Nino’s nephew.

We studied the Iris in class and everyone did beautifully. It’s a difficult subject! Sweet Lynne and her two beautiful paintings!

Sandie Girl…

I’m so proud of Violet.

Dave and Alexis invited us over for a lovely dinner and had a surprise cake for Veronica.

This was really the birthday month, ending with celebrating Lovely Marine at Capital Grille with her sister, Eliza.

Over the top every single moment! How I want to forward to Dr. Tobey Crockett – will try! Thank you Nan Rae!
