If I turn around, the summer will be over, so I want to be sure to enjoy each wonderful moment! The best high after the 4th of July celebration was seeing Mamma Mia.
We were in the absolute first row which was great as we saw everyone close up including the musicians. You can see from this photo the audience was on their feet at the end of the performance….singing along and filled with joy!!!
After the show there was a delightful Q&A with some of the cast.
Before I knew it, it was time for Carol Soucek King’s Salon on the Spiritually Creative Life! Carol is always so generous in mentioning my books.
Performance Artist Norton Wisdom was the main presenter at the Saloon where the topic was Understanding. Wisdom’s theme was “My Journey in Art, a lifelong convergence of drawing and morality, abstract form, physics, philosophy, and the mysteries of perception.”
For Wisdom, art and morality are inseparable, and the artist bears responsibility not only to form and beauty, but also to deeper human values. He explored how reality is constructed through experience and intuition.
The work that has occupied Wisdom for more than half a century, the ongoing series Critic of Pure Space, began in the late 1960’s and continues today. “It is the result of a lifelong convergence of these influences: drawing and morality, abstract form, physics, philosophy, and the mysteries of perception. The paintings are less answers than questions, attemps to understand how we experience space, time and meaning. After more than 50 years, the inquiry remains unfinished, and I see no end in sight.”
I still wasn’t strong enough to go to Carol’s dinner at El Portal so kind Yi-Lin sent me this photo. Looks like so much fun!
Sandie Girl and Sweet Lynne had a belated birthday celebration for me with a beautiful cake, balloons and a yummy lunch from Capital Grille.
Afterwards we had a relaxing time on the patio.

Afterward, Veronica and I had a delightful dinner at Chef José Andrés’ restaurant, San Laurel, in the Conrad hotel.
Saw all three hours of The Odyssey at the Alex.
Brush painting class in the studio was wonderful as always!
