It was so wonderful to have the Music Center’s ‘SPOTLIGHT’ event back in person. Celebrating 34 years of guiding young artists to develop their talents, to strive and succeed. This life-changing program provides artistic development through workshops, mentoring, live auditions, mastery classes and personalized instruction for every student. I am thrilled beyond description to support it and delighted to go to the celebration for the yearly winners.

After the performances there was an amazing dinner in the Jerry Moss Plaza with three stations of food.

One more plus dessert!

And I went back for seconds…oh my!

A fitting tribute to Awesome Jeri Gaile…

Sweet Josie stopped by with an exquisite orchid from Lovely Valerie…

And then it was on to getting the studio ready for the calligraphy master class with Qingnian Tang. Just clearing off my table was a job!

Sooooo happy!

Lunch with Sherry Dewane at Drago was wonderful. Interesting seeing her office on the 50th floor in DTLA!

Don’t we miss Bouchon in Beverly Hills? Yes, Yes, Yes! However, I must say the food at Tommy’s in the same space is fantastic and yes, there really is a Tommy…here’s proof!

The Branzino was the best ever…

On to another awesome event at the Music Center beginning with a lovely ‘Leadership’ dinner in the Founder’s Room. I don’t think the tables have ever been set up like this before.

Afterwards we all walked to the Ahmanson for a performance of ‘Swing Out.’

And then great fun in the plaza…

I so love this photo of dear Carol Soucek King gifting me with an indescribable treasure!

What are you going to do on a lazy Sunday when it’s 110 in the shade? Tour the Lloyd Wright Derby House, of course. Honestly? Too many stairs! 😂

I dearly love this little group: Michael Cooney, Founder of ‘Born to be Loved,’ Inimitable Carol Soucek King, Videographer Curtis McElhinney, Sculptor Sweet Patricia Ferber and the World’s Kindest Man, Yi Lin.

Did someone say dinner? Now I know what the waiter was talking about when he mentioned the sun! In any event, it was a delightful evening at Ca Del Sol with brilliant Tom Backer PhD, philanthropist and man-about-town! I do believe Tom knows everyone and manages to keep up with his myriad of friends.

On to dinner with Lovely Valerie and Dear Amy at Celestino Ristorante.

June ended with a delightful Camerata Pacifica event at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music introducing ‘The Nightingale Channel,’ a wonderful program of curated classical music specifically for hospital applications which is already in Loma Linda hospitals along with Keck Medical at SC and UCLA. The hope is that it will be in all 6,000 hospitals across the country. You can view the channel at: https://staging.cameratapacifica.org

We were treated to a performance by classical pianist Soyeon Kate Lee with Debussy Preludes and Chopin’s Barcarolle…masterful!

There were lots of nom noms in the lovely courtyard.

And a chance to meet and greet…Gallerist Maryam Seyhoun, Kate Park, Pianist Soyeon Kate Lee and yours truly.

The two Kates!

And my new best friend, Nancy Skurnik, transplant from the Hamptons!

What a delightful month, filled with so much joy. On to the 4th of July and time to party! I wish you a delightful, fun-filled and safe fourth!
