It isn’t easy, but it is possible if we are determined to do it.

2025 started out with the joy of the annual Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena.

The following day Dr. Wai-Yee Li visited the studio with delightful daughter Sophie to select artwork for her new offices in Altadena.

A world of thanks to dear Cris Lutz for carting us around to see two important exhibitions that were closing that day at the Huntington.

It was a beautiful day and a lovely respite.

And then the unimaginable happened….my oldest friend in Los Angeles lost her home in the Pacific Palisades horrific fire. Her husband managed to save their dog and wolf…yes, wolf…but their dear kitty was left behind. Miraculously, when they returned to survey the ruins, there she was. Perhaps cats do indeed have nine lives! A spark of joy. Watching the news was like viewing a disaster movie only this was worse than any depiction could ever be.

Our friends, Curtis and Yi-Lin, escaped the dreadful air pollution in Pasadena, and we loved hosting them with pizzas, a movie, popcorn, and other diversions.

Somi brought the joy!

Talented Dave Hanson, Emmy Award-winning writer for the Tonight Show, stopped by with Veronica’s mosaics…getting ready for our first Dodger’s party of the upcoming season.

All the storm damage was repaired…especially the fence on one side of the house.

That took two days!

Brush painting class was a welcome respite and so very joyful!

January ended with the Lunar New Year’s celebration at the Huntington.
